Pedreguer is a town in the comarca of Marina Alta in the province of Alicante, Spain. The town is situated at the foot of the Muntanya Gran and close to the two larger coastal towns of Dénia and Xàbia.
It has a population of 7097 (as of 2008). It is also close to the Jalon Valley which is famous for its springtime almond tree blossom. While Pedreguer does not have any world famous sights nor is it on the coast, it is a pretty and scenic base from which to enjoy a great holiday on the Costa Blanca with many great tourist attractions nearby. Pedreguer Rastro is a sort of flea market in the town. Sunday morning is flea market day. Held on the polygons where people flock from all over the Costa Blanca to buy and sell produce, clothing, gifts, home made jams, chutneys and much more.

Things to see in Pedreguer
Pedreguer has different points of interest that are worth visiting. The Mirabarques viewpoint was built in 1998, this viewpoint was built with the goal of sitting in the shade and gazing at the views. From here you can see the whole area, the Montgó, the sea and even Ibiza on the clearest days. Easily accessible, without a doubt a stop that you cannot skip if you are in the area.
The Hermitage of San Blas was built in the second half of the 18th century, the Hermitage of San Blas is a centralized place in a circular shape that is used for two of the local celebrations. The first is San Antonio Abad, which is celebrated on January 17. The second, of course, is San Blas, celebrated on February 3. If you are a lover of art and architecture it is a great option to visit.
The Church of the Holy Cross was built in the 15th century, the Church of the Holy Cross is one of the most important monuments in Pedreguer. They say it was built on an old Muslim mosque, but a Renaissance-style reform hides this fact. Later, in 1574, it had to be repaired, so the facade was in the Renaissance style, but the rest in the Baroque style. Thus we find a baroque interior with a Renaissance exterior. Something worth seeing if history, art and architecture are interesting to you.
The Big Mountain is the emblematic mountain of the town. In it, there are different mountain routes that you can enjoy and some of them have historical objectives, such as the route of “El castell de l’ocaive and les alqueries medievals”, reaching an old castle located on the mountain. Alicante Airport (IATA: ALC, ICAO: LEAL), also known as Alicante-Elche Airport, is currently the fifth largest airport in Spain and is the gateway to the Costa Blanca resort region, serving both the Valencia Community and the Region of Murcia. It is located 9 kilometres southwest of Alicante city. Growing in size continuously over the past years, in March 2011 the airport got a brand new terminal building, replacing the old two terminals.
Corvera Murcia Airport is a new Airport in Murcia. Several airlines are flying in and out of Corvera Murcia Airport, covering an increasing number of flight routes. Corvera replaces Murcia San Javier Airport (for civilian flights) and is also run by AENA (the official airport authority). It has significant scope to handle many more additional routes.
Valencia Airport ( VLC ) also known as Manises Airport, is the tenth-busiest Spanish airport in terms of passengers and second in the region after Alicante. It is situated 8 km (5.0 mi) west of the city of Valencia, in Manises. The airport has flight connections to about 20 European countries and 5.79 million passengers passed through the airport in 2016.
A new regional terminal, expanded car parking facilities and apron area have been recently constructed in time for the 2007 America’s Cup. The runway has been also lengthened by 50 m (160 ft). The airport has one terminal and one runway. The former runway 04/22 is not in use and has no ILS but has a helipad at the southwestern end.
It is the main base of Iberia’s regional carrier Air Nostrum. Irish low-cost airline Ryanair used the airport as a hub since 2007 but decided to close it in November 2008 following a dispute over subsidies by the airport authorities. Since then the airline has continued to operate out of Valencia but as a relatively large destination airport, and not a base.
